Continuing the off-topic discussion of the moment:
She's actually from ... well ... somewhere north of here. Well, I
don't want to give too much away. But it brings up a point: I have yet
to find any "fine young women" actually from New Orleans, or even from
Louisiana. Sure, they may look good, but their brains are MIA. Most of
the good ones have moved here for some reason (usually college). A
co-worker of mine from New York married a native, and he recommends
that one never do so as it means one can never leave town again. (He
also recommends against having children, but that's another story.)
Down here everybody seems to cling very closely to family; nobody
wants to move too far away from their folks. I moved several hundred
miles from mine and I'm doing all right. In fact, I think it would be
great to move overseas and just visit them when I can fly over for a
week or so every year or two. But as it is, I'm 12 hours' drive away.
Most Louisiana folk wouldn't even stand for that. The coolest people
I've met down here were not "born-n-raised" here. And most of them
don't intend to stay here for the rest of their lives. It's a good
place to start one's career due to the low cost of living. As the
saying goes, it's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to die
here.
Anyway, enough about this girl. We've only been out once. Well, twice
as of tomorrow. You guys are too eager. Or something.
Coffee time.

he meant legally binding.
I was also thinking that just about anything in New Orleans
can be done
with a 'fine young woman' and still be legal.
