Bill, are you in North Carolina? There is an age old motto there. North Carolina is a wonder place to visit but a rotten place to die. The first people to laugh at that are the estate lawyers. For those of you not familiar, North Carolina has a personal property tax unlike most other states. They tax you on lawnmowers, televisions, coin & stamp collections, etc. Much of that is none of their damned business, but if you obey their laws then you pay the tax. And God help you if you ever try to put a sign in front of your business in Asheville.
