All that's in the CPR is a bi-metal piece attached to a spring. Like the thermostat in your house for your HVAC. That thing will curl up whether it's heated by the little element in the housing, or by the heat from the engine. You yourself said the PRV runs hot and you burn yourself hours after it cools down. Even so it'll just be better to trouble shoot with a fuel pressure test rig. BUT, before we get to that, read my next post....
