Okay, I've observed the gauge carefully on several little trips this evening: The gauge starts stuck in the 5:55 position. I turn on the ignition, then nudge it over with the twist tie and it pops over to the proper cold position. I drive wherever I'm going and the gauge performs normally. As soon as I turn off the ignition at my destination, the gauge jumps up to about the 1 o'clock position. The next time I turn on the ignition, it pops down to 5:55 and gets stuck. Anyone got any thoughts? I figure next I'm going to try running the cluster without the plastic on the front, just to make sure it's not touching it. Where do your temperature gauges sit when you turn the car off? Anyone got one that flies around like mine? I wish I had paid more attention to it in the past. As many times as I've watched that instrument cluster, I've never noticed specifically where that gauge went when the ignition was turned off and on. -andrew Yahoo!
