i read David T's post 3 times to figure out what he meant because he's normally right. He didn't say the AC compressor sucks up electricity. He said that the car runs off the battery when the AC is on at idle. The AC system loads the engine, but you're right that the idle speed controller should compensate for this (assuming it can 100%).
