Hmmm. That's a good idea. I might have to make this a handy winter project. I'm not a EE the whole thing should be simple. LEDs and resitors and that's it. All you need to know is what kind of inline resistor to use. R = (Vbattery - Vled) / (IVled), You've got 12-14V supply (Vbattery). Most LEDs have a .02A forward current (Vled) regardless of brightness. The forward voltage of the LED (FVled) is indicated on the package. This varies with brightness. If I use the super bright I bought and stuck it in the car I'd have the 12V from the battery with an LED with 2.4V forward voltage and .02A forward current. That gives me a 480Ohm resistor. One 480ohm resistor per LED mounted on the board. Hell, you could probably use the existing circuit board and just drill mounting holes for the lights. Thus endeth the lesson. > -----Original Message----- > From: cruznmd [mailto:racuti1@xxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2003 1:41 PM > To: DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [DMCForum] Re: Dig this... a groovy idea > > Hey Travis, > > Any chance of figuring out how to adapt red LED's to our tail/brake > lights and losing the light bulbs? > > Maybe even the turn signals? > > Rich > > > --- In DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Travis Goodwin <tgoodwin@xxxx> wrote: > > Just went out to Radio Shack and bought 2 super bright red, jumbo > LEDs.
