Depends on the business you want to start. Like I stated previously, the service industry was the only industry to post a gain in the third, I believe, quarter of this year even though it was only 5%. There are new businesses that can be started and will survive through a rough economy and only get better when there is a turn around. I lost my job when the internet bubble exploded. While I was looking for another, a former colleague at that company who also lost his job, and I, tried our hand at our own thing and so far so good. Hell yes it was scary but after I did it I wished I had done it years ago.
