Okay, I'm probably going to embark on steering rack replacement pretty soon. My steering's been really sloppy since the day I got the car, and I've ruled everything else out. I'll be going with a DMCH rebuilt unit rather than a Grady unit because DMCH is local, plus I really need to replace tie rod ends anyway, and I understand their rack kit comes with new tie rod ends. Anyway, as long as I'm going to be getting that messy, it's time to service my CV joints as well. I know I've got at least one torn boot already, and with winter arriving (okay, this is Houston, so I should say "those two cold and rainy weeks"), I'd like to get the joints cleaned up and sealed nicely. Looking on delorean.com, I find part #100170 ("Inner Driveshaft Boot") as well as part #100119 ("Axle Boot"). Neither one is pictured, so I'm really not sure which is the CV boot. A search of the DML archives isn't really helpful, either, because there seem to be references to both. So, someone who's done this job or knows about it, can you tell me which part(s) I'm looking for and how many of them I'm going to need? I actually already have a couple of 100170s from my last visit up to DMCH (they even come with packs of new grease--nice touch), but I'm thinking I may not have what I need or the amount I need. Oh, photos of the Indiglo dash kit coming momentarily, although I don't expect it'll look much different from the ones Ryan already posted months ago, since I still haven't installed the thing. -andrew #4115 Houston TX Yahoo!
