People have grabbed Rich's subject line & run with it in directions not in original post... His complaint in that post is 100% valid -- crumple extension is way too flimsy. Is a DeLo design flaw. Doesn't take much road salt, minor impact (watch where you position that floor jack), etc to render useless. Has anyone noticed that first return pipe from radiator has tendency to bang against extension and chip off epoxy? Rich's second to last straw is a light gauge sheet metal extension welded, not bolted for easier replacement, to frame (didn't say a word about electrical system etc) I personally would have run big frame at least as far as steering rack. Radiator could have been supported on stiffer metal designed to spread front end collision towards fenders rather than collapsing on itself. Had JZD done same Rich would be on road now... Can't wait to see what cycle shop comes up with. If it's made of tubular material should be way stronger than anything rest of us have, including replacement extensions. Should also cost fraction of the price. Rich wants to keep things original, but this may be one mod he's happier with than stock. I just hope is ready by Oct 18. Bill Robertson #5939 Yahoo!
