Jim did NOT use a megasquirt.. He used a SDS EM-3 system. See: http://www.sdsefi.com/features/nov01del.htm I have suggested a number of times that the MegaSquirt would be a less expensive alternative to one of the pre-built EFI systems (like the SDS), but have never heard of one in a DMC. As far as emissions, I dont believe it! EFI is much easier to tune and maintain emission levels. And cost? Given the options of replacing all the stock major fuel system components, I think the EFI setup would be about the same cost, if not cheaper (and thats if you use a SDS system!
