> Walt, it's not that hard. If you're having troubles you need to either tackle one thing at a time or (no offense) you're operating beyond your level of understanding. Come on guys! Some of you took offense to his. Hey, I got a chuckle out of it. I love the way that Gary can say things like they are. Most people loose this talent by age 4. I'm flattered that he cares enough to say what he thinks. Yes, I am operating at the edge of my understanding, but I am learning. This is really fun. I drove my car about 1100 miles to the SEDOC and back after having my fuel injection all apart and replacing most of it. I still have a rough idle, but the engine runs well otherwise. I'll know more when I have the time to inspect the spark plugs and check the flow rate of the injectors again. > I'll bet you're not the typical young D owner, you the exhibit the classic resistance to learning things of an older gentleman. Yeah, I met Bill Robertson at the SEDOC last weekend. Man is this guy a trip -- spiked hair and all. This guy doesn't have the typical D either. He has an older smaller displacement PRV installed with all kinds of odd modifications to make it fit & work. I tried explaining to him how vacuuming his a/c system using the air intake of another car was wrong... and his answer was that his a/c works & keeps him cool; therefore, he thinks he is right or at least right enough. I don't agree with many of his "improvements" but if I were stranded somewhere and needed to get something repaired using whatever was closest at hand, I would be glad to have Bill around. But if I wanted something to be repaired correctly and be safe and reliable then I would trust Gary over my own judgment. Both of these unique & unusual men have their place in God's creation. I'm still trying to find mine. ;-) > For starters, do you own a Bosch pressure test kit and know how to use it? I have the NAPA version which I bought via DMCJoe's recommendation. It works, but I hate it. It has a very inconveniently located pressure relief valve that is very good at spraying fuel everywhere. What is the Bosch one like? And where can I buy one? I would also like to get a good fuel injector tester instead of breaking these little Pyrex test tubes all over the engine. > He can put stone Flintstone wheels on it and push it with his feet if he likes. Come to think of it, he'd probably see that as progress. Now THAT is funny! Can someone create this with a photo editor? > You'd be astonished at how blunt my stick is.< I think he is implying that he is circumcised. > T squares? Thank God those days are gone. Ever heard of Cad/Cam? I think Bill was referring more to body design. Lately auto designers are going out of their way to make lines curved when it would be more aesthetic (at least in my opinion) to use straight lines. > Plastic? There is no such thing, the term refers to a material's properties. There is no spoon. > 1) It's a POS to begin with. 2) It needs a better mechanic. Which is it? You are correct on #1. Concerning #2, Bill started this project with a fixed conservative budget in mind. Apparently he will do whatever it takes to stay within this budget -- no holds barred. I was so glad to see him win a passenger side window motor at the SEDOC raffles. Before that he had something really interesting to say about getting his windows to operate.
