Are stock item at Autozone so I'll refresh memory at lunch, but am nearly certain were metal core. Forget a lot these days but those were fairly recent installation. Re: O rings -- can tell you the industrial Vitons I put intake manifold were significantly better than set DMC Houston provides. Ever so slightly oversized on both sides of groove. Houston's rattle around loose. If cross section truly circular would imagine seal top to bottom better too. And material is firmer. How were Fel-Pro's? Is a really neat looking O ring with 4 clover shaped cross section. Designed to give you two mating surfaces rather than one. Unfortunately not available (McMaster Carr) in our size. Is Neoprene too.
