I put a photo of a Carb that was put on a DMC in the PHOTOS section of the group web page. This link MAY work: http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcforum/vwp?.dir=/ <http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcforum/vwp?.dir=/&.src=gr&.dnm=Car b+from+DMC.jpg> &.src=gr&.dnm=Carb+from+DMC.jpg Anyway, (if I remember correctly) this was done by Charles Muffley. The name may be familiar to some, because the guy died a few years back and the DeLorean midatlantic club now gives out a "Charles Muffley Award" to people who do technical modifications like this. Rich (Of T-REX fame) won it last year, and there was no "run" this year so I dont think any award was given. >From the photo, you can see that the carb was added at the "elbow" ports. I have never seen it on the car, so dont know for sure if it cleared the water pump pulley and the engine cover. If you serious about getting rid of the FI to go with a carb, look in to some of the older PRV powered cars that came with them. The Peugot 504 comes to mind (74-77). However, I might as well put my 2 dollars in. This is a step backward! If your looking to simplify and "upgrade" your fuel system, install EFI. There are plenty of aftermarket EFI systems that will fit nicley on the PRV. You could also build one youself (MegaSquirt). Heck, while your at it go for electronic ignition too!! Jim (on the DML) did this to his DMC a few years back using a SDS system. (See http://www.sdsefi.com/features/nov01del.htm) He later built his own custom intake and got rid of the restrictive stock DMC intake. There are some photos of it floating around or you could ask Jim about it yourself. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
