Don't have that jewel. In fact first time I ever saw one was on Louie's car last weekend. Was indeed bolted to rear of upper air assembly. But my idle still wanders a bit. I MUST be sucking air SOMEWHERE. Re: leaking spark advance diaphragms -- were bad on all 5 of my Lincolns but DeLo is still good. To test just suck on end of hose. Good diaphragm will give resistance and you'll hear rotor move. Truck has electrical advance, now inactive because I've removed onboard computer. Have seen many old cars with leaking spark advance diaphragms, but are usually driven by ported vacuum. Problem isn't there up at idle, and by the time RPM's are up centrifugal advance has accomplished same thing. Some loss of performance, due to unmetered air if nothing else, but not like problems that keep popping up on these lists. Of course DeLo does shoot full manifold vacuum to solenoid at all times...
