Am sacrificing quality Ford time for this... Is a pipe plug on passenger side of timing chain cover. Am assuming accesses valve train: If you feed steady stream of carb cleaner through that hole engine bogs down. Doesn't die, but definitely slows. Is most dramatic effect if you bend straw to spray upwards towards valve cover. Either I'm just washing all the oil off and running chains dry, or there's a route between timing chain cover and intake. Also hear a faint "poof" if you cover hole with your finger. Is true you don't feel a lot of suck. Failed to recreate engine moan with breather tube covered (is actually more of a cry) until -- duh -- plug was reinstalled. Now screams quite nicely thank you very much. Tell me that bad boy wasn't sucking. Oh, my passenger valves are clattering now that they're full of carb cleaner. Am first to admit I'm not the smartest tool in the shed, but this all indicates passage from valve train to intake somewhere on passenger side of block... Now, if you'll all excuse me, am going to break out the trouble light for some real work. Will check back later... Bill Robertson #5939 Yahoo!
