Here's a quick description of what I did last night. I turned the key to on and put my voltmeter on fuse 1 (while the fuse was still installed). I heard (what I believe to be) the RPM relay click. That seemed odd. Was that a stuck relay? Then I yanked fuse 1 and cleaned its contact and sprayed a little electrical cleaner on it. With the fuse back and fingers crossed, I cranked the engine. Click - rurururururur - putt putt puttputtputtVROOM! She's alive! For the first time in 4 months she lives. The engine hunted for about 15 seconds, trying to stall. Eventually, the idle smoothed out and purred at 900-1000 RPMs. I ran out into the street and beat my chest. I went around to the engine and saw copious amount of smoke. Sweet mercy what now! At closer inspection, the supposed 1500 degree hi-temp paint I put on the exhaust was burning away. Cheap-ass shit. Anyways, the exhaust still ticks so I'll have to re-torque the manifolds, but it sounded good. I slipped a timing light on and discovered, to my horror, that timing was WAAAAY off. Wait a minute. I was checking on the wrong wire. A quick move to six revealed SPOT ON timing. Electrical timing was good. Next up: re-torque head and manifold and take that bitch out on the road. Yahoo!
