Isn't that what everyone's been saying: voltage produced at the coil, not plug? Extremely little fuel in cylinder (ratio to air something like 10,000:1). No effect on electrical flow. Just like jumping gaps in distributor. Of course too much fuel will have tremendous effect on ability of spark to jump gap. Burns dirty and clogs everything with soot. If you're happy with stock voltage, more power to you (no pun intended). Still run my truck and AMC w/ factory coils. But was so pleased with '69 460 after I swapped coils (no choice: pointed ignition coil was too low for electronic ignition conversion) I decided to make part of standard de-emissioning, tune-up, bulb replacement (Lincolns have 30-40 throughout car) procedure. What's another $25 at that point? Now, about those big breasted British women...
