I have discovered that my WOT microswitch sticks. Makes the car run rougher when it's warm and it's just idling. Of course I'm still getting new injector seals but it seems that things are "settling in" on my engine. When I put my thumb over the CO plug hole, I actually felt a lot of vacuum this time and the car smoothed out even more. When I took my thumb away the car stumbled and ran a lot worse. According to Martin & Bill's Law Of Vacuum Leaks this is a good thing. It means I've almost got them all. John Hervey is sending me a new otterstat. A good guy he is. I tried to adjust my shift linkage. Still no reverse. I discovered what' s happening though (I think). When I lift up on the stick, it doesn't appear that that action is being transmitted to the actual shift linkage. I have to go under my car again to work on this. There's just one problem though. SPIDERS. Freaking spiders. My car was nearly glued to the spot like "Gulliver's Travels" by spider webs. Bastards. Are they poisonous? I'm about to break out the friggin' napalm. Blech! Ok, on to business. Many of the metal fittings in my rear fascia for holding on such minor things as my TAIL LIGHTS and TAGS have rusted and ripped out. I don't think I had rivnuts. I had little square doodads with a threaded hole for the screw. Is that a rivnut? What are my options for repair? On the upshot, the car was running so well I took a quick putt around the parking lot to rip up the spider webs. It steers and brakes well so far. Won't the neighbors trip when they see it parked nose in! Fraggin' spiders..... Stuck in 1st gear, Rich Yahoo!
