Interesting to know. Nope..the otterstat is upside down as it should be. I'll slap a multimeter on it and see if it "shorts" when it hits the trip temp. I had my idle regulator in backwards (duh). Well..maybe not "duh". The dang thing HAS what looks like an arrow on the bottom but it ain't right. As soon as I turned it around, the car began to behave -much- better. As better as you can get for 6 leaky seals. My oil dummy light wire has a crappy connection. The light flickers sometimes but I wiggled the wire and proved what was happening. Freaked me out at first. The oil pressure gauge is off the scale. It's not shorted though because it indicates no pressure when the key is in pos II. In only ramps up where there actually is oil pressure. Must be that 20w50 combined with a crappy sender unit. Anyone else experience this? I never was able to get any air from the top of the radiator. Only liquid. I guess that's good. I didn't break the plastic barb. That's very good. Next question: The car, at irregular intervals "sneezes" tiny little back fires through the air-flow sensor. Just a sharp little "chuh". Is this a product of vacuum leaks? Especially ones that intake at irregular flow rates? The car appears to have better power as I install things correctly, and find vacuum leaks. Better and better. HOT though. Next: fuel filter, brake lights, shift linkage adjustment. It should be. If the electrical connectors are facing skyward, then an air bubble can get trapped there in the pipe, and the otterstat won't kick over. > > -Dave > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
