Do yourself a favor and don't do that. About the "spark spark", if you remember inside the distributor cap, that there are "three sets of two" connections on the cap. They aren't REALLY close together, but they aren't evenly spaced. The spark should spark in the same fashion. Maybe I'm not paying attention, but I didn't read a message saying that you have checked the spark and fuel. Did you do martin's (?) fuel distribution test with the washer to make sure that the fuel is OFF with the throttle off and ON with it partially open? About the spark, there is an EASY test to make sure that spark is working right. You don't even have to remove your spark plugs, you just need $12 for 6 extra plugs. Make sure these plugs are identical to the ones in the head. Pull off all the plug wires and hook them up to your free plugs. Touch them all to a ground. You can hold them with your hands as long as you are not too close to anything grounded (you will find out if you are too close). Turn over the engine. All 6 should spark. If you are good, you might be able to verify that they are sparking in the correct order. About timing, you're sure that you are on the right stroke, right? Compression stroke not exhaust? The cam turns once for the engine turning twice, and this is very easy to do.
