Renault like cross-referencing an older part to a replacement (eg they start using M8 instead of M7) and don't tell anyone till you receive it and it's wrong. We get all our engine stuff from a specialist Volvo place in London. So far they've done us proud, even rising to the challenge of "and we need one stud that's longer at one end than the other eleven" (for starter motor heatshield). Water pumps, gaskets, tuning parts.... and apparently back in the early '80s they bought 60 complete DeLorean engines, stripped all the Renault stuff off, retro-fitted Volvo bits and sold them as new engines. With 20:20 hindsight even they admit they were stupid throwing away all the sumps, water pumps, alternators......
