Oh boy. I replaced the fluid in my transmission last year. It calls for 80W (I think) and it takes a good bit. There's a plug at the base of the tranny where you drain it out. Another plug at the top is the filler. It's a bitch getting that 80W oil in. I had to siphon mine in. Wait until a good hot summer day to do it so the oil will be nice and viscous. I did mine late on a spring day and ended up having to keep the oil bottle in hot water so I could get it in. I'm sure there's an easier way... but that was the only means I had at the time. > -----Original Message----- > From: Cohee, Michael [mailto:mcohee@xxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2003 9:42 AM > To: DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: RE: [DMCForum] Re: Grind going to 5th -- (Me Too) > > Ok My dumb question of the day......I rarely here this mentioned....I have > a 5-speed and wondered about lubricating the transmission....I am bleeding > the clutch line but was wondering the prosedure for adding or replaccing > fluid in the transmission/differenetial.
