martin, in my quest to turn every symptom in my car into a vacum leak and thus casue my rough/seeking idle :-) could you explain a little more about the mode switch causing a lean condition....I have been told by several people that my car is running rich and it is seeking at idle oe when i shift to nuetral at highway speed. I am going to troubleshoot alot of other things but i have never considered the a/c mode switch. (Next someone will say using the wipers in sunny weather causes a massive vac leak :-) when i turn the a/c knob i do hear a distinct hiss at each setting and then a vent move. Is it difficult to get to the a/c mode switch? can i reach behind it and feel for a leak? How can i cap off to test for leaks? is it normal for a mode switch to effect idle this bad?
