I have been working on my brakes recently (as in this past weekend). I am happy to report that my parking brake works and the car can be safely started on a hill. I also successfully installed my anti-rattle springs! One thing I've noticed is the squeaky rear brakes. When I first get in the car, the pads squeal terribly each time I brake. This lasts for about 2 minutes and then they stop. If I brake good and hard, no squeal. It seems to come during the first few minutes of normal braking. I have installed the anti-squeal compound but no dice. I think it can be attributed to pads themselves. Today's "lifetime" pads are so hard that squealing brakes are part of the territory. Has anyone experienced this? Yahoo!
