> They are exactly the same Not so! Doors made for the earlier two-key system have larger holes than the later one-key system. And despite having a larger hole, they can still be made to hold the smaller one-key system lock. You use a file to cut two notches in the door skin -- one on top & one on the bottom. The size & placement of these notches is critical for getting a good fit. And even when perfectly done, the lock isn't as secure as a door made with a smaller lock hole. Instructions for cutting the notches are included in the Service Bulletins manual. A one-key system door could have the hole made larger to take a two-key system lock. I would hate to do this on any DeLorean because I'm an advocate of converting to the one-key system. You keep fewer keys in your pocket and the locks are far more reliable. Removing a two-key system lock without breaking it requires either practice or lots of time. Walt Yahoo!
