Elvis, Jan, and Farrar; Your way of modification does work well but I chose 10 ohm since I wanted the level of brightness to be the same as the rest of the instruments while the 5 ohm resistor path is less bright. More of a personal choice. I see Mike has found he has a more complex problem. Take care.
