Ahhhh the joys of spring. Finally, a time when Michigan is at its best. Its a cool 65 degrees out side right now. I loaded my parts car on my trailer, covered it up so no moisture will get it, and put it behind my house. I went over to my storage area and took the car cover off the Delorean, kissed the front end and checked under the car for oil....nothing. Opened the doors, still work. Put the key in, turned.......she's alive! First try. I'm sure you know the feeling you get when you haven't started your car in a while and you really don't feel like having it not start. THe front tires were really low, so I drove the car over the the local gas station to fill the tank and pump up the tires. Then I went for a short (20miles) cruise around the back country/coastline roads. The lake still has big ice chunks floating in it...looks beautiful. Ahhhh, Spring at last! My parts car has brand new rotors, pads, and rebuild Grady calipers on it......you can guess what my first project is. I'll also be replacing the engine cover since mine needs to be repainted. The one from the parts car is perfect, along with the louver. Is anyone interested in an engine cover that needs painting, and a great condition louver? The louver has some light fading on some of the fins, but it structurally perfect. The second project is to bring my car in to get the R-12 taken out, replace the compressor with my new one, and put the R-12 back in. Finally...I'll have A/C!!!!!! THANK GOD! 10 hours to Memphis in 95degree weather in your Delorean that doesn't have A/C was suicide! Can you tell I'm in a good mood? I get to drive the Delorean when I get out of work! Owners in the northern states know how I feel. 4 or 5 months of good driving weather really sucks. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the garage.
