I had a car shipped from California to MD enclosed and it was about $1200 (coast to coast is relativley inexpensive becasue driver makes no stops) ....I went standby so I saved about $300. I also learned a lot from several phone calls and websites....Shipping from TN to NY I would guess to be about $1000 if you want it enclosed (which is recomended...they use nylon tie straps instead of heavy chains). They all want some sort of a time window but in today's economy I would imagine you can request a more specific time. Tell them to call you 24 hours beforehand etc. Also, some companies bring a small flatbed to your house and take it to their lot to be moved again. I was lucky that the large, and I mean large, tuck came to the sellers house and dropped off at my driveway. SIne your car is not running you will need it point to point meaning it has to leave your house, instead of you driving to their loading area. I think they dislike non-running cars so they charge about $100 extra. It requires extra work since they often have to move cars around and wench your car on the truck....Walt's post is also correct make sure the compnay actually drives the truck and doesn't jusat farm it out...I used Intercity Lines and my driver was excellent.....He was extra nice to my wife and even moved the car around and helped her take pictures of the car being unloaded...She noticed he took extra care around mine and other cars on his truck If the car is going to Rob I am sure he could reccomend someone too.
