As far as I am aware, there are 4 variations on the DeLorean speedometers. 1) The usual 85mph with 55mph in red 2) The European version that goes to 140mph. Those are rare. 3) The Canadian spec ones that go to 240kph / 140mph. (Too bad you sold that car to me Adam. It's the one feature that really makes it worth restoring :-) 4) The 170mph speedo upgrades that are basically a bumper sticker decal that covers up the 85mph speedo. Like you mentioned before, I was suspicious that recalibration of the speedo meant changing a gear since 2*85=170. But as far as I have heard, recalibration involves changing/rearranging magnets. All of the 170mph decal conversions that I have seen looked real crappy. It looks like they used a razor blade (and plenty of caffeine) to cut out holes for the turn signal & headlight indicators. If anyone has a different take on what is out there, I'm curious to know too. Walt To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: DMCForum-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Your use of Yahoo!
