The owner most likely did not take the car to the Dealer for the recall. Also, a lot of dealers got burned by DMC and refused to do "warranty or recall" work. When I took my car out of storage so I could drive it again, I ended up buying the recall kits and installing them myself. My car is an early '81 and was serviced by Delorean 1 for 15 years. It does not have the stabilizer bar recall brackets. Walt told me several of his cars do not have the recall either. My question is if any of you have any input on when or how your recalls were done....ANy original owners that rember getting something in the mail or a phone call. My understaing is car makers issue recall notices/bulletins and owners simply take their car to the nearest dealership for the correction. Why were these (and other) recalls never done when they were free? I am not sure how recalls were done in the early 80s but when my 1988 Acura had a recall ont eh seat belt mechanism I got a notice in the mail and just took it to the dealership and it was fixed at no charge.... I know there are "upgrades" that we do to improve defective/low quality parts but service bulletins and recalls I had always assumed would be done on every car. The consensus is that we are meeting in Mount Dora instead of Zephyrhills. This will be on Saturday 22nd of this month. (See above link for our motivation. As a group, we are not participating in the exotic car show mentioned in this link, so don't worry about their $50 registration fee. We will be having our own event free of charge.) Yet to be determined is exactly where in Mount Dora we will meet and when. As for when, I suggest high noon. This gives all of us who have expressed an interest in attending enough time to leave home in the morning and still get to the show on time. As for where, someone familiar with the area suggested a hotel downtown next to where the show will be. Another someone suggested that we find a nearby restaurant to meet at. So... anyone who is familiar with downtown Mount Dora please post your suggestions to the DMCForum. So far we have 5 people with DeLoreans who are planning to attend. These are all people who read their e-mail. :-) There are many others who may attend who do not yet know about the event. I want to confirm all the details before I call everyone. Otherwise I'm wasting their time if I can't tell them exactly where and when. Walt Tampa, FL To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: DMCForum-unsubscribe@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Your use of Yahoo!
