VW part number 211 919 051 is a standard off the self VOD sending unit. You need open it up and make a move a wire and it will work like the a OEM DMC for about $50. If you dont feel comfterable with taking the unit appart it will work as is but your guage will read backwards. Or if you dont want to spend that much on something you might screw up any aircooled VW sending unit from 1964 to 1979 will work the same way and are much easier to modify and will run about $20. I have sourced the sender unit over here and it's £150 (let's just say it comes from one of those manufacturers who charge a lot for parts!). I had planned to build the interface myself, but to be honest all I really care about is getting some warning before the car starts bucking around. I think you'd fix your delayed readout problem if you took your current sender out and poked something (eg bent paperclip) through the little holes at the bottom - I expect they've just got a bit blocked. I didn't know Houston had reproduced it - thanks for the info. Martin ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ---------------------~--> Looking for a more powerful website?
