When these cars were new, I doubt very many used a full tank of fuel before having serious problems. I believe in fixing something so that it never breaks again for the same reason. I'm not into customizing for the sake of being different. A DeLorean is different enough already. Those into hacking DeLoreans aren't satisfied with just being different -- they have to be different from others who are different -- kind of the alternative to the alternative.
