$150? I'll take it! And tow it with the Ranger! LOL
Actually, speaking of Fords, I almost got my hands on a 1989 Crown Victoria
recently. It was tempting, but I'm saving up for a DeLorean. Then there was
the absolutely beautiful 1962 Dodge Dart convertible I saw for only $2,000.
Mechanically restored, bodywokr done and primed, all it needed was paint,
upholstery, and a ragtop. LOL ... but I resisted temptation, besides which
it was not the engine I wanted -- would rather have a later 60s Dart GTS,
like the one Joe Mannix drove. :) (Anybody out there old enough to remember
Mannix? Hardy har har.)
But even though I'm partial to the Dart (not to mention the Road Runner and
Duster), I gotta save for the DMC-12. :)
In the market? Well ... I could get a really BAD one for what I have now and
tow it home, but I'd rather save and get one that I can DRIVE home ... and
then when it breaks as I go through the shakedown period, I can fix it to
where I can drive it on a regular basis. (I am lazy and cheap -- I just fix
things when they break one by one rather than restoring anything to
perfection.) I should have enough money, at the rate I'm going, and if
nothing else goes wrong, to get one next spring. So, naturally, I'm looking
now anyway. :)
