Just a reminder about the upcoming DMA Summer Fun Run: DMA Summer Fun Run, Saturday, August 9th 2008 This event is FREE to all DMA members. We will be starting at High Point state park in NJ. The park is the highest elevation in the state and has spectacular views of NJ, NY, and PA as well as a monument built in 1930 that will be open for us to view. The state charges a $10 parking fee per car. We will wind along route 97 following the Delaware River along the sloping terrain to our next point of interest. Roebling's Delaware Aqueduct is the oldest existing wire cable suspension bridge in the nation. Once used to ferry barges as part of the canal system it has now been converted to carry cars as a conventional traffic bridge. We have a beautiful setting to spend the afternoon enjoining plenty of shade and also swimming, boating, or a casual walk if so inclined. Among the interesting history of the area, Stephen Crane wrote Red Badge of Courage very close to where we will be. There have also been a few films shot "on location" at this lake.
