Josh, you are absolutely correct!! I have been in constant communication with Ken and the battles of the past are over. You can confirm this with Ken. Unfortunatley its too late in the game to do anything with Ken at this years show. Its not because of a conflict with Ken. Its because some of us simply car make the show and its so close we aren't able to something together. For the record, I have no conflict with Ken. I told him and the board I refuse to be in a battle that started before I got involved. Josh, if you like to call me directly I will be happy to talk with you directly about this. I can assure you and everyone who is reading this that we are working on things that will bring major change. Once we have everything in place we will make the announcements. One thing that has started is open communication to the community. Now its up to everyone............. I just wasn't getting much value from DeLorean World anymore, and when they decided to stop supporting Ken Koncelik's shows, I decided it was time to stop supporting them. If we can all agree that every one of us is involved with the community for the common good, then by all means I'll rejoin! Sounds easy right? Let's do what we can to prove it! This ridiculous rift that has developed between the DOA and DCS has to go. How can we work together to make the community whole again? -Josh From: DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:DMCForum%40yahoogroups.com> [mailto:DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:DMCForum%40yahoogroups.com>] On Behalf Of Ken Baker Sent: Wednesday, June 04, 2008 4:33 PM To: DMCForum@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:DMCForum%40yahoogroups.com> Subject: Re: [DMCForum] DeLorean Owners Association Josh, Thank you for your email. With that change comes a new direction. I realize that this forum is not the most popular place for the DOA. I also realize that in the past there have been many conflicts with the board of the DOA and other leaders in the DeLorean community. As I stated, with a new Board comes a new direction and a fresh attitude. We can't change the past, but we can control our future. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Ken Baker and I am the new President of the DeLorean Owners Association. There has been a lot of chatter about the Association. I'm amazed as to how much of the comments are not true. There also have been some very useful constructive comments. I realize in the past there has been a feeling that the DOA is an elitist organization. As DeLorean enthusiasts, we want to work to bring the DeLorean community together. We would like to hear from you, the DeLorean owner and enthusiast. As the President, my goal is to promote the legacy of John DeLorean and help preserve and promote the DeLorean automobile. The board as a team will strive to meet the needs of the DeLorean community and work to unit all DeLorean owners. I think it's important to remember that we all got into this hobby because we share a passion. I am sure no one got into it to have conflicts or animosity towards others. In the next month we are going to launch new programs that will hopefully benefit the DeLorean community. In the meantime, we hope to hear from you. In the past, there has been talk of "secret meetings" and the board was unapproachable. Those days are over. We are out here reaching out to the DeLorean community. We would like to hear from you and how to meet your needs. My email address is listed below. Please contact me directly if you would like to contribute or discuss issues, concerns, or how we as a DeLorean Club can better serve the DeLorean community and our members. The team that makes up the Board of Directors of the DeLorean Owners Association is: Ken Baker President Mark Shearer Vice President Ron Ferguson Membership Director James Hales Advertising Director Joan Truscott Treasurer Elliott Hansen Chapter Director -Florida Alistair McCann Chapter Director-Ireland Steve Hirman Chapter Director-Minnesota [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
