Shannon,

The 4 speed automatic is a ZF 4 HP 22 E or HL.  It came out of a 
Porsche.

I have one disassembled that needs to be rebuilt.
I would call around to find a shop in your area who really knows ZF 4s. 
   The "guts" are fairly common
and used in Rovers, Jaguars, BMWs, etc.

I could make you a very good deal on it.
I need to get rid of the parts from my garage.

As for the adaptor plate, I had Kennedy Engineering make it.   The 
bellhousing comes off and is sent to them.
The have the pattern for the SBC.

BTW.  I would recommend an aluminum SBC so you don't have addition 
weight issues on the rear end.
