RE: [DMCForum] Selecting a good watch

So THAT'S where my lunch money went! Thanks to you I didn't have lunch that
week. :(

Oh, yea, I certainly look up to you Jack. You're my idol. When I grow up I
want to be just like you. :)

Yeah well I lied. I was the kid under that grate the day you dropped
that quarter... Man that was a good day.

Truth be told, I was fortunate. My parents had next to nothing and both
worked 2 jobs to support us and still managed to make sure I had some
good toys when the bdays and holidays rolled around. But the kids were
relentless in school. I was the butt of many a joke for the first 6
years of school between glasses, being heavy, stuttering, and wearing
Ames clothes and generic shoes. But we all grow up and the outcasts
shall inherit the Earth... Have you ever noticed that for the most part
there are more so called "losers" in this world than "pretty" or "cool"?
I never thought I would be looked up to by anyone, but here I am lol

I was the kid who had to envy your Kangaroo shoes and basic Lego set. ;)

I was the kid who had the Kangaroo sneakers and the basic Lego sets. All
my friends had all the big Star Wars sets making X-wing fighters and
such while I had the crappy small ones that made race cars. I was also
the one who had Hammerhead to play with...

Oh the times they do change. I am much happier now lol.

True 'dat. ;-)

My buddy had one. We talked his older brother into running it over
with his pickup, just to see if the hype was true.

It was. Couple of scratches but that's about it.

Tell me about it. It was nice when I could get excited over a $12 toy.

No, wait, actually it wasn't. Real toys were only a dream then. Now
they're within my grasp. I remember when I was younger, this guy down
the street from one of my friends had an Iroc-Z. Man, I loved that
car. It seemed impossibly out of reach, but I told my friend, "Some
day I'm going to buy a car as cool as that." He just said, "Yeah,
right." Heh. Now I could buy a couple of 'em for the price of that
stupid watch you people have me looking at. ;-)
