[DMCForum] A DELOREAN QUESTION

Hi there group,

I'm in the midst of a rebuild of Josh Porter's car,
Beastie Boy, and I have a simple question. Has anyone
ever gone into the rear pontoons to remove the bolts
that hold the stainless steel bracket to the closing
panel, the fender, and the black mud guard (for the
lack of a better word). Josh's car came from NY and
the bracket was stainless, the bolts were stainless,
the washers were stainless, but the nuts were plain
old steel. They were actually so corroded that I had
to cut them off. You haven't had any fun unless you
got a Dremel tool inside the pontoon and tried to cut
off a bolt!!! :-O Yea, I know, all the ML types out
there have skinney little arms, but, gee whiz,
shouldn't the nuts on the bolts have been stainless
too??

Am I mistaken, or did the PO do a modification that
just plain sucks?? Any thoughts would be greatly
appreciated.
