I don't have any reluctance in using the sticky pad just every other vehicle I have seen uses glue. If the windshield / windscreen is replaced you just remove the mirror and mount it to the new glass. I have mounted antennae to glass using those sticky pads on countless vehicles with no problems. I had one on my truck that had to have been on there for ten years. It was extremely difficult to remove. Ryan, this reminds me of something you can do that we use to mount new antennae. When you get the new pad, use a hole punch and put one or two holes in it so it will be covered by the black area. Squirt a tiny bit of clear silicone in those holes, flush with the pad. Clean the hell out of the black spot, I use isopropyl alcohol, and stick it on. I bet it won't go anywhere after that and you could still pull it off if you need to. I don't know why I didn't think of that before. I think you'll find all original DMC windscreens have the British Safety "Kite Mark". They were made in the UK probably by Pilkington who have been around for years. http://www.bsi-global.com/Kitemark/index.xalter Not every car has such a swept screen as the DeLorean. And what happens a) when you do need to change your screen (you'll need a new mittor) or b) when the mirror itself breaks (seen that too). There seems to be some reluctance to trust a sticky pad. They last for years, just not 25 in the hot sun :-) PLus, if using JB Weld, how ydo you hold the thing in place while the glue's setting? Martin timnagin wrote: >Hijacked from the DML, obviously.
