This stuff is cheap to make, it costs more to ship back, refurbish and
resell.
I have seen good stuff go in the trash just because it got some dust on it.
There is a Nokia plant here in Fort Worth that my buddy worked at, he had
tons
of stuff that they trashed simply because it was dropped on the floor and
got dirty,
or got a fingerprint on it or something like that.
Most of the stuff I buy was most likely fine before it got sent to the
warehouse.
They SHOVEL, yes, SHOVEL valuable electronics into boxes.
MP3 players, iPods, all sorts of stuff. It's all scrap to them.
I just bought about 100 new unused Sirius home antennas for less than the
copper weight
value. I sell these for $20.00 each, whcih is about half thier value.
Then on top of it I toss in free shipping.
I always have all the latest gadgets and goodies this way, I also get ahold
of some of
the goodies that filter in from Radio Shack corporate office.
When they moved into the new building downtown I started finding all sorts
of excellent
goodies from long ago. Old microphones from the 50's and 60's.
I also get ahold of prototypes that the R&D team makes.
I also get a lot of test items, that have been tested in heat, cold, drop,
etc.
They must torture test all of thier products for various shipping
environments.
Another source is store fires, when a store has a fire they simply right off
every
thing in the whole place....the stuff smells like smoke of course but it is
usually
still good.
I get all the latest goodies like digital cameras, camcorders, phones,
whatever.
Not anyone can just walk in and buy this stuff.
I have built these relationships over the last 10 years with these guys.
Most of the left overs end up at flea markets and eBay.
