Smokey Yunick was a reputable person.  There were many
articles written about his success with a few
adiabatic engines before his death.  It is said that
his daughter still drives a car fitted with one of
these engines.

Possible, but based on the listing in the Patent
database it looks like some fees were not paid and it
may be "expired".  It is a government web site, so I
could (probably am) 100% wrong.  
Maybe a better question was, if it is so simple why
has some Chinese company not ripped it off and built
it very cheap?  LOL
