For outright drag racing, the DeLorean SERIOUSLY needs to have a new
differential installed. Once you did that, the car would be a whole
lot more competetive with just the stock engine, against more modern cars.

Otherwise, with a stock DeLorean, you could really clean up if you
were to take one bracket racing. It's aerodynamics make certain it
isn't affected by the wind as much, among other things.
