Marc,
You just don't get it. I'll explain it again in as simple of terms
as I possibly can.
If several people on this list said things like: "Black people are
just a bunch of thieves", "Black people have no respect for their
women.", "Black people are so stupid because the level of black-on-
black crime is so high.",
Now let's assume I'm black. No one singled me out by name, but do
you honestly think I'd want to hang out with such a nasty group of
enlightened bigots? IT'S THE SAME THING MARC. What would you say to
me then? "Oh, oh my, so sorry Rich, we meant all the OTHER black
people, not you. You're obviously not like that."
We've got people on this list who -did- directly call me white-trash
and called my car a "ghetto-sled", we've got people who constantly
belittle those who happen to follow a faith as "brainwashed" "dumb"
etc...the list of insults is too long to list here. So just because
I wasn't singled out, I'm just supposed to overlook all these
general insults thrown in my direction?
"Oh, oh so sorry, we didn't mean YOU Rich, we meant all the OTHER
religious fanatics who attend cruise-in's. You're obviously not like
that because I've seen your skill with a wrench."
I'll never cease to be amazed at how you guys can overlook your own
soft bigotry because it's directed at a trait like faith, not color
and because you are too cowardly to single someone out by name.
As far as letting people think they've won? Fine. You win. Congrats.
Who cares?
