The production DeLorean was hastily engineered at the last minute --
perhaps light bulbs were used only because they were readily available
off the shelf. With more development time DMC might have been able to
perfect some sort of conflagratory light source.
You have to admit: fire is simple and basic. All you need is oxygen,
heat, and something to burn. Once I finalize my open flame
modification, I won't even need to go to a parts house to replace a
burned out bulb! Just pull over on the side of the road, chuck some
grass in the socket, and I'm on my way again.
If I do convert all my light bulbs to open flames, at DCS '06 am I
allowed to sit in the parking lot and gloat as I wait for owners of
light bulb equipped cars to stand in line to buy replacements?
