Hmmmm - you've got me thinking now..

The Citroen XM had the 3 litre 12v PRV (in fact I'm bidding on one now)

The XM also had the best version of the XUD diesel engine at 2.5 litre 
turbo 4 cylinder. The reason you've got me thinking is that I've 
recently pulled an XM engine apart and discovered that the clutch is 
exactly the same as a Renault one ie will mate strait up to a UN1/369. 
It makes sense to me that they would keep this clutch for a big diesel.

On the subject of starters/batteries etc, the DeLorean's battery and 
starter motor is more than capable of turning a diesel over.
