I suspect that in a given situation where my life may
be in danger, the built-in reactions we all have to
survive will come in to play.  If I had a gun, I may
shoot it.  But, what if my "attacker" has the toy gun
he stole from Video Bob?  I was never really in danger
at all.
It does not matter, because if that situation were to
happen, there is not much thought that goes in to the
reaction.
