When the car is back in service I will most definitely go with a filter from
one of the vendors. For right now, all I want to do is change the oil and
see if it will run at all. I don't care what brand it is.
I won't be running the engine long enough to get it warm, but just for a few
minutes before the body comes off.

If you REALLY, ABSOULTELY MUST use a cross-reference filter, then
check the files section on DMCNews. I posted some pics from a couple
years ago of a Fram filter whose internals exploded while in use on my
engine. If you take a look, you can see the #'s on the can.
After having a Fram filter rip itself apart, and send God knows what
filter bits into my engine, I'd seriously reccomend that you use a
Purflux from one of the vendors. If you've waited this long, what's a
couple more days?
Remember, if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.
