Which is why we have carbureted engines on the list, special sound
systems, several personally modified BTTF cars, everything by Rich
Weissensel, the list goes on.. 

I haven't actually taken the time to look at the pictures in the
auction for the car in question, but I have seen it before. Based on
my time on this list, I'd say that if you get a universal retching
noise from everyone here who looks at it, it's probably not a good car. 

I think a lot of the animosity wasn't so much the car as the
experience of trying to figure out what had been done and why (the
fans and discussion of if they'd been removed, should be removed, why
they shouldn't be removed, etc comes to mind).

And criticizing this forum as archaic is a really bad way to get
anyone to think "Hmm, maybe we were being selfish bastards". It
doesn't work if you try to mock something that we obviously like, or
we wouldn't use. 

For your information, mister "I've seen enough of this list to be able
to criticize you", recently there have been discussions about making a
hybrid email/web forum system, and they might actually come to pass. 

Your credibility level is dropping like a stone. Yes, perhaps it was
unfair to rip into someone because of their car, but as I said, this
wasn't just based on the pictures, there was a LOT behind it. If
you're getting your information through someone else, it's likely that
you haven't seen all of the messages. We have. 

If you'd seen as much as you claim to have, you'd know that this is a
very friendly and open group overall. Friends are made quickly and
favors are done just because someone needs help. I may not be an
owner, but I do take offense at someone criticizing people that have
been generally good people over the time I've been here, because of an
incident that you *probably* don't know everything about. I could be
wrong, but you don't come off as being well-informed about this whole
situation.
