Hello,
as far as the DeLorean mechanice is concerned, D1 is
the only delorean specialty shop in the San Fernando
Valley (DeLorean mootor center is in Orange county.
the PRV is a very reliable engine provided that oil is
changed on a regular basis and the engine is not
allowed to overeat. Don steger mentioned he had one
customer with 500K miles on the original engine.
As far as reliability is concerned, routine
maintenance is more important than original mileage.
It is good that this car has been regularly serviced
by a DeLorean
specialist. My DL had routine maintenance, however
the mechanice was not a DeLorean specialist, and as a
result, some things on the car were "jerry rigged" to
work right and I had to spend an estimated 3-4k to get
the car back to normal.
I DO live in california, san diego to be exact. I'll
have to find out how far the car is from me. IT would
be nice if an owner closer to the car could look at it
as it is about a 200 mile drive for me I think. If
there is not someone available to look at the car I
may be able to drive up and take a look at it (I could
probably work out something with randy).. randy
contact me via email if you like
