The clutch fork is an interesting story. When I pulled it, the little
clip just broke in half. It was old and stressed and had some rust on
it and just fell apart in my hands. I sandblasted the clutch fork
itself and put a coat of primer on it. Then I modified the clip, as
follows:

The "clip" part of the clip was intact and in good condition. I just
had to replace the broken "shaft" of it. So I took a couple pieces of
strapping metal - it's "springy" and returns to it's original position
when you release it - riveted that to the clip and to the clutch fork.
It was darn near an exact replacement and still sprang back when I
pulled on it a bit.

Reinstalling, the clip went behind the pivot thing, "holding" the
clutch fork to it.
